AoT turned into such a money grab as soon as they realised how popular it was. Slowed down the pacing of the anime till it turned to shit and started pumping out these obviously-made-in-10-days cash grab games.
Or, you know, they found were pacing it too fast for how much story they had left (as the novels and manga are still ongoing) vs how many episodes they had left to make, and slowed down the pacing so that they wouldn’t run out of story.
I agree about the cash grab, but the anime really had to be slowed down. They made the mistake adapting the manga to anime too soon and so they have to play catch-up with the manga as it comes out. Going too quickly will put them in filler territory.
It was bad since episode 1. Slow pace was obvious to a lot of people in the beginning. Hell, it was summed up nicely on here as “A Giant Robo anime without the Robos”. Now we’ll see it get bashed around till all the money is spilled from this cash cow. (How did this even get popular in the first place?)
The pace for the first four episodes was far too fast in my opinion. I would have liked another episode showing them as kids and/or in early training.
The first two are mobile games so of course they are cash grabs they are made from a regular user trying to benefit of its success. the ps3 games if made from independent company are cash brabs if they are made in direct correlation to the author then it might be his idea on giving his fanbase mire info on their favorite character. but the 3ds is definitely not a made in 10 days thing, plus its natural for a popular series to have a game released. take naruto and bleach. however naruto is one of the only to actually have the games released in english in other countries. this one is only japan distribution so far as i can tell so its not as much of a cash grab as the others
I won’t lie, I’m pretty skeptical of the fact that AoT blew up not too long ago and suddenly there are these games out. It does seem like a money-grab tactic.
The problem is that the AoT world isn’t rich enough to support a decent full length game yet. Heck, even if you wrote it off the manga you still couldn’t do too much. The story just hasn’t progressed far enough yet. Mind you, the 3DS version seems to be what I’d expect for an AoT game.
I’d be the happiest lazy gamer alive if VN’s were regularly localised.
Such a bummer.
Ha! Visual novels… So funny.
