This week is another of them there filler weeks. Nothing massive out this week, but May still has some humdingers to come. Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein are almost here! Wooo?
I’ll refrain from commenting on the amount of dirge being released on Steam right now.
BattleBlock Theater (PC)
What is it? I really have no idea what the hell is going on here. BattleBlock Theater is a two-player co-op platformer with insane elements. Doesn’t have to be 2-player either.
Should you care? This looks insane. Seriously insane. And sort of fun.
Chronology (PC)
What is it? You won’t believe it! A 2D puzzle platformer! Whooooo!
Should you care? Even if this is good, how is this going to stand out among all the other retro styled 2D platformers. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve written that description.
DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition (PC)
What is it? I’m always afraid of slagging off Dynasty Warriors, because so many people love this series. But it’s not my thing!
Should you care? Apparently this is one the better ones.
God of War Collection (PS Vita)
What is it? Loads of God of War games! Hurray. (Not God of War 3 though. Boooo.)
Should you care? Yeah, this is alright. Chances are you’ve already played these though.
Kirby Triple Deluxe (3DS)
What is it? The return of that adorbs big fluffy ball of air.
Should you care? I like Kirby games. A bit basic, a bit simple, but always worth a blast.
Memento Mori 2
What is it? An award winning adventure game that takes players all over the globe in search of something or other.
Should you care? There are a lot of adventure games on Steam. A lot. This looks like one of the better ones.
Orc Attack: Flatulent Rebellion
What is it? A fairly average hack and slash game with juvenile fart humour chucked in.
Should you care? Fairly mediocre from all accounts. Might be fun in its four player mode.
Minecraft PlayStation 3 Edition
What is it? It’s Minecraft
Should you care? It’s Minecraft.
Retro Game Crunch (PC)
What is it? Not just one retro styled game, but SEVEN!
Should you care? Man, I couldn’t be more sick of the ‘retro’ thing. Your mileage may differ.
The Walking Dead Season 2 Episode 3: In Harm’s Way (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)
What is it? The only video game based on something that’s ever been better than the thing it’s based on. Except Goldeneye. There’s always Goldeneye.
Should you care? I was happy to leave it with Season 1. But I know there are people fiending for this.
Steam Squad (PC)
What is it? A turn-based war game about the first world war set in an alternate univers.
Should you care? I have no idea if this is good or not. I like the concept. I also like games about the first world war. But that’s all I’ve got.

Dynasty Warriors on PC? I thought Dynasty Warriors was a console only thing?

They’ve had a few PC releases here and there. Usually they’re not advertised well and don’t have a digital service, so few people even know they exist. This is the first game of theirs that is arriving on Steam. They’ve done about one port for every generate (DW 4-8). They’re alright, but in my experience they’re just straight ports, nothing special about them, but maybe that’s changed. They have also tried to make (not sure if it’s taken off in Asia) a couple DW MMO’s, which at the time I tried were actually half decent
Hey Nob, we should get this so we can play laggy co-op and then disconnect halfway through a mission!
That was fun.
Good times!
Ugh Ser Disconnectulus
Super Time Force is out this week too, finally!
Hells yeah, first reason to turn on my 360 for a while! Pretty psyched for this.
Might have to pinch some AA batteries from the storage cabinet at work before I go home, thanks for the reminder!
MORE Steam Stuff. That’s a bit average. 🙁
Minecraft PlayStation 3 Edition.. I thought this had been out since December last year?
it was, it consumed most of my christmas break.
Edit: it would seem the retail (disc) only goes on sale this week.
@markserrels…
You liar! You were not! You lie you liar! YOU LIE! JA’CCUSE!
Nothing for me again this week, except for The Walking Dead Ep. 3 as I’ve got the season pass.
Only one week till Wolfenstein and two weeks till Watch Dogs, Wooo!
I’m just holding out for borderlands on the vita
This is the Minecraft Retail Edition… which is no different to the digital version that has been on the PS Store for sometime now.
So many junk games are being put on steam daily. I get sick of seeing newly released games that looks like they’re from the 90’s. I know steam covers all types of games but this is getting ridiculous.
Also isn’t Minecraft PS3 Edition already out? Because I’ve had it on my PS3 for months now 🙂
There’s a shitload coming out which ARE from the 90s. Publishers have seen the success of GoG.com etc and petitioned Steam to host their 90s-00s back-catalogues.
That said, I spent most of Sunday perusing Greenlight, and a lot of the stuff being made by indie developers now looks pretty much like the stuff that was coming out in the 90s.
Ah lol. I did notice a few were old 90’s games.
I think this is the retail release, previously it was PSN only.
Battleblock theatre is fantastic on 360, though most of the fun comes from couch co-op. Only ever played 2P but imagine that 4P would be mind-blowing. Don’t know how well it would translate to online play though, which I imagine is the norm for PC play.
I have a feeling that the deluge of average to meh games being released on Steam per week is just going to rise so long as Greenlight and Early Access exists. Unfortunately, the quality control isn’t that great and like any App store, the quality titles are being lost amongst all the Me Toos and homebrew games that should be filed under “Learning Experience”.
Not quite this week, but… TRANSISTOR IS OUT ON THE 20TH!

Hmmm…. judging from the list, I think the world may need a zombie-themed retro-style 2D platformer right now.
and i was gonna get DW8 on PS4 just so i’d have something to play on the PS4… screw that… will get on PC for cheaper 😀 (will also be waiting for it to go on sale… lol)
Interesting, The Behemoth stated that they had no plans to ever release BattleBlock Theatre on PC..
KIIIIIIIIIIRBYYYYYYY!!! (っ^‿^)っ
