You know all those cool 8-bit style remakes of famous movies on YouTube? Ever wonder how they’re made? I always just assumed they were made in something like RPG Maker, but it turns out it’s way, way more complicated than that…
A lot of hard work goes into making these videos. Almost everything is drawn and fixed up using Photoshop. It really is a pretty in-depth process, to the point where certain aspects of it are actually hand-drawn. Who knew?
And yes, the team is well aware that the movies are more 16-bit than 8-bit. They just don’t want to change the name!
