Current standards for zombie movies based on zombie games are pretty low, but at least Dead Rising isn’t taking itself seriously. The first trailer for Dead Rising: Watchtower is out, and we’re in for 90 minutes of slightly-above-low-budget zombie action. That’s just the way I like it.
Heck, the movie’s probably gonna be worth it for Rob Riggle’s one-liners as Frank West.
The trailer also teases tons of fan service for series fans, especially when it comes to fighting back against the undead. Dead Rising’s speciality has always been about ridiculous weapons that shouldn’t be effective, and it appears Dead Rising: Watchtower will have that in spades.
Yep, I’m in. I’ve already got my beers ready.

Man, from the looks of it Rob Riggle might just be a cameo level appearance. 🙁 🙁
It comes out on my birthday… This could not make me happier.
First I’m hearing of this and I’ve just set an alarm so I can stream it, seems exactly like the game… Minus, you know, actually looking like a game lol.
Well the whole game is full of sarcastic narcissism. This movie will not disappoint.
And it’s on Crackle. Which is free with occasional ads ammiright?
“Am I the only one who knows about zombies around here?”
It really does bug me in pretty much every zombie game, movie and book ever, that people are surprised when people bitten turn, that zombies are mindless, ect. Best I can do is assume they take place a parallel universe where George A. Romero and such never existed.
