Originally released in 1998, Resident Evil 2 is covered in a fresh coat of HD paint in this fan-made remake. Developed by indie team InvaderGames, it’s an unofficial, non-profit title that’s adding an array of new features like 3D models, particle effects, new textures and more.
Resident Evil 2 Reborn is currently slated to be a free release in coming weeks.

Looks awesome…. Tell me again why haven’t Capcom done this yet?
I’m just shocked they haven’t slapped a C&D on the the project. Rapt, but puzzled.
Now that it gets some more exposure it probably will… 🙁
They will now.
Won’t be long. There was a guy making Doom 2 again, same conditions – Free not for profit. Got C&D’d. Capcom will get wind of it and stop it.
They almost undoubtedly already are in the background, capcom has that remaster fever.
Ssshhh! D’ye want to get sued?!?
Amazing. More effort than Capcom put in their own HD remakes.
Hope the download count goes into the millions so Capcom actually official remakes RE2.
This is cool but I think if you’re recreating RE2 it works better with 2D environments rather than the modern 3rd person shooter style stuff. As much as I loved RE Revelations 2 it’s a very different type of game.
That said I’m guessing Capcom will announce RE2HD after Zero is released, so as long as this project keeps moving forward I should be able to get the best of both worlds. =)
I hope he does Resi 4 next!
