I don’t have the patience for this sort of creation, but thankfully the internet does.
Mario Paint is truly an incredible beast, especially if you put an awful lot of work into it. Mike Matei spent four months using the antiquated software to remake the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles intro from the original 1987 comic.
Every single frame was done with freehand drawing, with the original cartoon intro on a TV next to Matei as he drew. “Each drawing would take roughly a half hour or more to do,” he said.
Man, I wish I could draw well. Or had the time to learn.

Mario Paint was the game I bought that came with the SNES (it was that bundle they were doing at the time).
He’s right in that the built-in animation tool wouldn’t have been the best way to do this. He’s taking requests now too. Cartoons with buzzy theme songs (with lyrics!) playing over them are very 80s, but I wonder if he’d look at doing Evangelion or something similar.
i could definately see thundercats, He-Man and She-Ra, Silverhawks and GI-Joe
Fucking rad.
Cowa-fucking-bunga!
