In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, you’re up against 100 people, and a couple of well-placed bullets will take you out of commission for good. Chaos reigns. Sometimes, though, chaos can work in your favour.
Competing in a duos match, Sir Lance and a friend found a car. They were planning to use said car for car things, like driving. Then they hit a slight incline, and the car decided to do a back flip, because trusting video game cars is always a mistake.
The car landed upside-down. For anybody else, this would mean a death sentence, or at least a change of plans. Sir Lance, though, decided to just… chill. For, like, 30 minutes.
Now, I personally have attempted the time-honoured tactic of passive non-interventionism (AKA cowardice) in PUBG, and it did not end well for me. Somebody tracked me down in my cosy little safehouse and blasted me right out of my cosy little recliner. Sir Lance’s, um, “strategy” was different, though. Occasionally he would take shots at people from inside the upside-down car, and they’d have no idea where they were coming from, because all they saw was a seemingly abandoned shell of an automobile.
When there were only a handful of people left alive, Sir Lance and his friend popped out of the car and swept up the remains. Flying in the face of pithy things like The Odds and Common Sense, they won.
“No way we won from sitting in a car upside-down for half the game!” Sir Lance shouted, just as amazed as everybody else.
But hey, if it works, it works. Looking forward to seeing this become the new meta in a week.

Well won’t work anymore after this….everyone will just shoot flipped cars.
yeah! GOOD ONE KOTAKU! ruining gamer strategies AGAIN!
Unless the car flipped inside the very few remaining circles….I doubt they sat inside the car for 30 min…I call BS on that one!
