The latest game from the makers of Retro City Rampage, Shakedown: Hawaii is looking bonkers in the best possible way.
Billed as a parody of corporations and white collar crime, Shakedown: Hawaii was first shown off a couple of years ago just before that year’s PlayStation Experience. It’s more or less billed as a game about building a “legitimate” business through the dodgiest of practices, including rebranding anything in sight to call it a superfood, using flamethrowers to rezone areas for more profitable development, property acquisition by way of rocket launcher, and just generally exploiting everything in your path.
There’s a very comical GTA vibe to it all. The original GTA games, that is. The website goes into more detail about the open world, customisations and missions players can discover. It’s an open-world adventure, technically, although that’s far from the most useful description given everything that’s going on here.
There’s no release date for Shakedown Hawaii at this stage, but the developers did confirm today that the game will be shipping on PS4, Vita, PC, the 3DS and the Switch.

I don’t think Big Kale is the one labeling kale as a superfood. Consumers can make up bulls**t all on their own.
So if Retro City Rampage was the retro GTA3 then this one is the retro Vice City!
