The first trailer for Thor: Ragnarok is one of those trailers you never, ever forget. So, the cast and crew had a lot to live up to at Comic-Con, but the new trailer take care of at all. It’s a two-and-a-half-minute ball of action, awesomeness, humour, and insanity that may be the most purely fun Marvel movie trailer we’ve ever seen, all courtesy of director Taika Waititi. Guys, Thor and Loki are shooting people with laser guns.
The trailer makes it clear that Thor and Loki will team up to defeat Hela and Ragnarok. Plus, we’ve got the wolf Fenris, more of Thor and Bruce Banner’s delightful banter, general valkyries on pegasi, Valkyrie the character, sassy Jeff Goldblum, and so, so much more.
Including the fact that the Hulk is going to fight the fire giant Surtur and that is something we’re very much looking forward to seeing. Check out the trailer for yourself here:

You mean Skurge I think. Ragnarok is the event Hela brings, wiping out Thors homeworld basically I believe? The end of times…
I think Project Ragnarok was a clone of Thor made by Stark. This may have been back in the Ultimate universe.
Marvel films aren’t my thing. Taika Waititi and that soundtrack though? Yeah, I’ll go that.
I don’t understand the new direction they’ve gone with this film. I really liked the fantasy/mythological feel of the previous two films. To me that’s what set the Thor films apart within the Marvel cinematic universe. Now they’ve changed it to this weird 70s/80s Hotline Miami/Guardians of the Galaxy vibe and I’m just really confused as to why.
Think that’s done on purpose to tie into GotG and then bring those characters into the Infinity War movies. The movie is a stepping stone and will probably be a fun romp
I’m guessing they a.) Didn’t want it to be boring and b.) prefer it to be visually interesting.
Things the last 2 Thor movies weren’t…
Probs because Thor: The Dark World is largely considered the worst MCU film. Personally I like it, but most people didn’t.
I mean there were issues with the Dark World, but I too enjoyed it. This basically looks like Guardians of the Galaxy: Milky Way edition. I love GotG but if I wanted to watch that, I’d watch that and not Thor. Maybe it’s just the mythology nut in me craving contemporary interpretations of ancient mythology.
That’s exactly what this looks like, though.
Hela, Valkyries, Fenris, and Surtur as well!
Hulk vs Surtur. That’s worth the price of admission right there!
I liked it too, more so than the original Thor to be honest.
DC are trying to do dark and boring (very successfully) and I’d rather watch stupid characters like Thor getting around in their old school costumes doing cosmic comic book shit.
The Thor comics are historically completely wacky (same as cosmic heroes like Guardians and Dr Strange) and this fits perfectly as far as I’m concerned.
100% in for Waititi
Did you see its got Rachel House from Hunt for the Wilderpeople in it! Stoked to see what shes got in the movie.
