Len Wein, the comic book writer and editor who co-created DC’s Swamp Thing and edited Watchmen, has passed away.
Wein, who revived the X-Men in 1975 with artist Dave Cockrum, giving birth to the modern form of the franchise, had a long and distinguished career all over the comics world. Wein, who was born in 1948, was reportedly undergoing health problems and tweeted about his time in the hospital as recently as September 7th.

Len Wein, co-creator of WOLVERINE and SWAMP THING & more responsible for the x-men you love than he gets credit for. Thank you. #RIP

One response to “Len Wein, Co-Creator Of Wolverine And Editor Of Watchmen, Dies At 69”
I was so very sad to hear of the passing of Len Wein, co-creator of such iconic characters as Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Colossus, & Storm.
If it were not for these creations, I would likely never have had the chance to write for Marvel as I did with the Official Handbooks as it was borne from my passion for the X-Men comics, a passion that started with my 2 now lifelong favourite characters Wolverine & Nightcrawler.
RIP Len Wein. Your legacy lives on.
