Over the past month or so, video game publisher Paradox has been teasing something that could very well be a new Vampire: The Masquerade game. Lately, the cryptic hints have become a little more direct.
Around a month ago, Paradox Interactive launched a dating app called Tender. The logo for the game contained a blood drop, and the reveal trailer’s opening shot shows dark red liquid we’re assuming is meant to further evoke thoughts of blood.
Beyond the app, which asked for users’ blood types to match them up with others, there was also some kind of ARG underway, including codes turning up in let’s plays from popular Paradox game players. Much of the past month of ARG hints have been cryptic references, but today we got to see some images which seem to help confirm that this is indeed a Vampire: The Masquerade tease, and not some unrelated new Vampire IP.
The images, posted to Twitter in relation to the Tender app, appear to be locations from the original Vampire: The Masquerade video game, including Surfside Diner, The Ocean Hotel, The Ventrue Penthouse, and Fat Larry’s van.
We know there is something big happening on the 21st – but what? Will we finally get our soulmate? What does it all mean?
Thread incoming – This is what we have dug up so far – Maybe you could check out https://t.co/1etoJVjF8f and help us find out more? ???? #tenderbeta pic.twitter.com/q7y1uAWTTK— Paradox Interactive (@PdxInteractive) March 17, 2019
Right now, we have no clue if what is being teased is a remake, remaster, sequel, or prequel to Vampire: The Masquerade, but it’s clear something in that ballpark is being formally revealed later during GDC this week.
