I’ve always thought the Nintendo 2DS looked, well, terrible. These new 2DS handhelds don’t.
Transparent hardware is terrific-looking, and these 2DS units are no exception. According to Eurogamer, the Transparent Red and Transparent Blue 2DS handhelds will be released in Europe when Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire go on sale in late November.
The bundles come with a digital version of the game already on board.

I totally don’t need this but I’m sooo getting the blue one!
*shaking intensifies*
Nintendo would release a new model of 2/3DS after announcing the ‘new 3DS’, but not make said model compatible with the new games, etc.?
It’s just a differently coloured shell. Why would they release a New 2DS so close to the New 3DS?
Also, I dunno about the look, to me it reminds me of some cheap Fisher Price thing.
They would release a New 2DS close to the New 3DS because there are (to be) games that will only work with the new system.
Given the local launch date of the New 3DS, this ‘old’ 2DS is actually releasing after the new 3DS. That’s a weird thing to do.
Yes, but
A) Other than Monster Hunter and arguably Smash Bros, there aren’t any games that take advantage of it.
B) 2DS’s are still welling well and are also aimed at people who are more rough with their consoles (aka, young kids). So they aren’t going to be in a rush to replace their 2DS’s with the new ones. When there’s more games out and more importantly, when sales of the 2DS start to slacken off, then they’ll announce the New 2DS.
Can you play other 3DS titles on this handheld?
