Last year, Kotaku reported that a South Korean artist, Eunsuk Yoo, created a very friendly Spider-Man statue that made some people angry and was taken down. You’ll be happy to know that the work of art has found a new home.

The sculpture, which is called “Good Morning Spidey”, was originally installed on the side of a shopping centre. After the work was decried as “lewd”, it was removed. However, the owner of an Eastern medicine hospital in Buan Country purchased the statue from Yoo. The work was touched up and erected on the hospital for all to see. Here, is a photo from Eunsuk Yoo’s Facebook (via tipster Sang):
The statue is visible from the street. So is Spider-Man’s excitement.

“It is very interesting for me see the interest people had in my artwork and also to see people arguing about it,” Yoo told website Seoul Searching. “Their advice has been great in helping in my artistic activity. Also, this experience will provide more opportunities my future artwork.”

Recently, Yoo has been working on Hulk sculpture. And no, the work doesn’t show off an incredible boner, just some funny boxers and impressive sculpting skills. If you look closely, you’ll see that the Hulk is being terrorised by two mice (one is on his back, while the other is near his foot). Because even superheroes have their own irrational fears.

I see what you did there.
Show me on the Spidey statue where you were touched up.
