Remember SUPERHOT? The time-bending first-person shooter that was once a short browser game but is now in the process of becoming a fully-fledged thing? There’s now new gameplay footage — 11 minutes worth. SUPERHOT continues to look super hot.
For those unaware of SUPERHOT, I recommend making yourself aware. You can find out more about the game here, but it’s basically a stripped down shooter where time is analogous to the player’s movement — meaning you can make time stand still by literally standing still. It makes for some surprisingly engaging scenarios and, more importantly, feels incredible to play. SUPERHOT is super good.
This is alpha gameplay of current work in progress and it looks to be some sort of endless mode. We’re not seeing too much here that wasn’t already part of the incredible playable prototype, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth watching. SUPERHOT just runs on such an excellent high concept that I’m happy to simply watch the game in motion.
SUPERHOT raised over $250,000 on Kickstarter in June 2014 to help make the fully-fledged version of the game. It’s set for release at some point in 2015. The sooner the better. It continues to be one of my most anticipated games of the year.
