Visually enhanced versions of the last-gen single player hits Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham Knight are getting bundled and sold for $US50 ($68) as Batman Return To Arkham, according to the game’s publisher, Warner Brothers.
Warner is promising “improved graphics, as well as upgraded models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders” as well as all of the games’ downloadable content.
The games were developed by Rocksteady and the port is being handled by Virtuos a large but low-profile studio that has done everything from the Heavy Rain port to work on Rey’s speeder in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (!).
The excellent 2009 Asylum plays as a fairly linear adventure on an island where Batman faces off with his most demented enemies, and is still considered by some as the best game in the series. It was one of gaming’s great overachievers, coming out at a time of low expectations for licensed games and stunning players with its smooth melee combat, aggressive stealth, strong voice acting and terrific overall simulation of what it might be like to be Batman prowling after villains. The superb 2011 sequel Cityis more of an open-world game with even more heroes and villains and playable Catwoman side-sequences.
Return To Arkham is coming out on July 26 release Xbox One and PS4. There’s no PC version, which, well, maybe that’s erring on the safe side. The non-Rocksteady-developed (but still pretty good) Batman Arkham Origins is not included in the remastered bundle.

found a mistake. at the tart you say
its supposed to be arkham city not knight that’s getting the remasterFound a mistake, you said tart :p
Asylum’s still the best of the three.
Agreed.
Lol, 3.
Agreed, loved Asylum.
I’m a massive fan of the Batman games, but after an hour or so of Arkham Knight I lost interest (partly because it still runs like shit on PC).
I’m tempted by these simply because I never finished them on 360, back when I had a habit of buying all the games and not having time to finish them.
On one hand, ugh. Another re-master.
On the other hand, yay! Keen to replay Asylum on Xbone!
I love remasters. Didn’t have a PS3 so missed out on a lot of games I’d have liked to play, but now I get to play Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us and so on on my PS4. Bring on the remasters, I say.
I’m happy to own a copy of these on PS4, with all the visual tweaks, much like I intend to get Uncharted collection. It’s a good game that I pay for twice. Speaking of which, does anyone really think it’ll retail here for a direct AU$ equivalent to US$50? No doubt we’ll see it on shelves for $90-$100, especially at EB.
I had a look at Eb games, they are selling it for $69
Yep. Fuckin’ EB Games…
Dumbass, that’s $0.30 less than US$50 lol
Jesus the one time when they have the monopoly they DON’T gouge customers!? EB I hardly know you anymore…
The other article says that the disc version is exclusive to EB, and they’re selling it for $70:

That’s pretty close to US$50 at the current exchange rate. Not sure how much it’ll be digitally.
Thanks, just saw that. Don’t agree with the exclusivity deal (anyone remember Morrowind being exclusive?), but I guess as a remaster it’s not as risky.
I have them already on PC so don’t think I need this collection.
Fixed: “BEST Two Batman Arkham Games Coming To PS4, Xbox One In July”
You didn’t enjoy Arkham Driving Sim?
If origins was included it would be a rush out and buy – with just two of the games (both admittedly great) I’ll wait for a digital sale
Was looking for something to fill the space between Uncharted 4 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. This could work.
