Battlefield 3 Open Beta Starts Next Week

Battlefield 3's much-anticipated open beta starts on Thursday, September 29, the publisher said this morning.

The beta will run until October 10 and will give players a chance to check out the game and the social platform Battlelog, according to the post on the official website for the game.

If you pre-order the PC digital version of Battlefield 3 on EA's Origin store before September 25, or if you bought Medal of Honor: Limited Edition/Tier 1 Edition, you will get 48 hours early access to the beta, meaning you can start playing Tuesday, Sept 27.

For Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the open beta will be visible on the consoles' digital marketplaces under Battlefield 3. For PC, you need to install Origin and download the Open Beta from within the Origin application.

HURRAH!! PC players finally get the kudos they deserve, with a better graphically aesthetic game and earlier access then consoles.

    *sighs happily*

The beta was ready for PC a month ago dude, but it was delayed because of consoles. Including the use of Origin, this is hardly a kudos for PC gaming.

I don't see how the beta was even ready even if you claim it was delayed by consoles or Origin.

Damn, just in time for my internet to hit it's cap.

Awesome, just in time for me to be out of town between the 23rd and the 10th >.>

Oh well, better take my desktop with me.

so do you still have to own MoH tier 1 edition or just have played it/used code?

I'm not sure - I thought it said that you need MoH to access the beta early, but what about otherwise - what does 'open beta' mean anyway?
