EA Says Warhammer-Looking Tanks Won't Show Up In Command & Conquer After All

The above concept art from Command & Conquer Tiberium Alliances, which appears to be ripped directly from Warhammer 40k, will not appear in the upcoming social game, publisher EA has told Kotaku.

The image, which depicts Command and Conquer tanks that look just like Warhammer tanks, has been floating around Reddit and other forums for the past day or two. But EA says the Command & Conquer tanks are just concept art.

"Games Workshop and EA are aware of the IP issues around the artwork in question, which have now been resolved," an EA representative told Kotaku. "The artwork was internal EA concept art that was unintentionally released publicly. No Warhammer 40,000 tanks have ever made an appearance in Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances, and never will. Games Workshop and EA continue to have a strong relationship working together on Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning and the new free to play game Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes which just entered open beta."

So there you go then.

    So many possible reasons for this:
    1) Concept Artist just having some fun modelling a classic Warhammer tank
    2) Planning a Warhammer skin pack DLC in future;
    3) Ooops we got caught - bail out;
    4) Stern lawyer letter - probably from their own lawyers.

    Glad to see they dropped it. For now at least.

    I saw this unfolfing on 4chan, good to see that it went as far as it deserves too.

    Wow, this surprised me, i mean its not like EA have recently used something a stock photo from the internet to say, i dont know, depict a character whose face has been hidden for 3 games in the Mass Effect series?! I mean that would be cheap and pathetic, words you couldnt possibly use to describe EA. So it has me really surprised.??? This must just be some honest mistake. NOT!
