It Doesn't Sound Like The Witcher Developers Are Working On The Witcher 3

The Polish game studio CD Projekt is hiring for two new games, and it sounds like neither one is The Witcher 3.

One of the franchises is described as "dark fantasy" (just like The Witcher), but the CD Projekt site describes it thusly: "Our mature dark-fantasy world is well known around the world, though if you can't stomach dwarves, elves or sorceresses who put their ample charms on display in Playboy magazine, we've got also something special that might be right up your alley!"

That's a clever way of saying it's not The Witcher. The other franchise, which is represented by a little gun on the help-wanted page, seems like… it has guns.

Okay, so one dark fantasy game set in a world that is well-known but isn't The Witcher. And another game that has guns.

Whatever's next, I hope that there's lots of lusty sex and awesome costumes.

Set phasers to "wild prognostication!"

    Please be a sci-fi RPG.

As long as it doesn't have any of the usual stupid stuff that comes with a sci fi RPG.

Like turning lightsabers into baseball bats. If something should kill someone no matter what make sure it does.

At least with a standard sword it makes sense if your not one hit to kill everything.

Sure KotoR had the baseball bat. But it's system was designed so that at least some of the time the enemy actually was able to avoid said attacks(thanks to the part turn based combat)

I don't think George Lucas would stand for someone using lightsabers in their own Sci-Fi setting.

Whatever it is, I look forward to it.

(Facepalm!). Triss Merigold from The Witcher was in Polish Playboy. The first one is DEFINATELY a new witcher game.

Agreed, it's obvious that the "something special" they're referring to is the other project. They're flat out acknoledging The first project is The Witcher 3... which will hopefully launch on PC and next-gen consoles simultaneously.

It says if you can't stomach that, then here's something else for you. Why would they ask for people who don't like fantasy etc to work on a fantasy game?

Nevermind, read the quote within the source's context and yeah. This article looks like he quoted it out of context and even confused himself.

Isn't that basically confirming they are working on Witcher 3? I think he read the quote wrong. Isn't CD Projekt basically saying
"We are working on a famous medieval RPG game which everyone knows is Witcher 3 but we're not directly saying, but if you're not interested in that, we're also working on another game!"

^This. I don't think the author understands what they are getting at in that quote......

Under Required skills & experience they have for quest designer one point is
"Extensive knowledge of Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels will be a strong plus" (author of the Witcher Saga)
I can't imagine that is a requirement or preference for a new project. They are definitely working on The Witcher 3, I mean the achievement for finishing the game is titled "To Be Continued"
I think Kirk Hamilton misinterpreted the quote. awkward.

      Under the "cinematic artist" position
"An exciting chance to work on one of the most acclaimed role-playing games"
"Experience in creating an AAA title for a multiplatform game will be a plus"

Author can't read, is clearly witcher 3, and look to also be making an appearance on (presumably) next gen consoles.

Also, am I the only one who feels the need to upgrade their computers when a new Witcher game comes out?

Looks like somebody here hasnt played Witcher 2..............

If witcher 3 comes out only for console i buy a console and play witcher 3 only for the witcher game i enjoyed the first part and witcher 2 if there will be witcher 3 i buy it even it cost me 1000 bucks
