8-Bit Umbrella Plays Chiptunes While Rain Falls

German craftsters Alice Zappe and Julia Lager have come up with this 8-bit umbrella, which uses sensors and speakers to detect when water hits its surface then blast out some appropriate chiptunes.

The sounds are generated as the rain falls, they’re not pre-programmed, so the effect might be a little… jarring. Or awesome! User experience may vary.
