Yep, The PSP Is Still Getting Games. This One Is A Strategy-RPG.

It's called Ragnarok Tactics, and it's a tactical role-playing game set in the world of Ragnarok Online. Trailer's above.

Out today on disc for $US30 and on the PlayStation Network for $US25, the game actually looks pretty interesting. I've never played Ragnarok Online, but I'm always a sucker for a good strategy-RPG. (Although nothing has ever really compared to Final Fantasy Tactics.)

Here's Mike Engler, a localisation editor over at publisher Aksys, describing the game:

So, what is Ragnarok Tactics? The quick and dirty description is that it is a fairly involved strategy role-playing game that takes place within the Ragnarok Online universe, complete with its familiar monsters and job classes. Add to that already appealing formula a story with no less than five unique endings and a hero(ine) who is a doer of deeds rather than a speaker of words, and you have the recipe for an incredible portable gaming experience!

Head on over to the PlayStation Blog for more.

So what do you think? Does Ragnarok Tactics sound cool?

Ragnarok online wasnt that good, let alone it's MH clone or whatever this is going to be.
BTW, since it's ragnarok, isn't it actually a korean RPG? or does a Japanese company have the rights somehow?

According to the mystical clairvoyance of the internet, Gravity Co. is a subsidiary of Gung Ho.

Ragnarok battle offline... now that was a great game. ;D

I picked it up and will probably spend some time on the weekend evaluating it. Personaly I love the the story of a good srp like FFT or Tactics Ogre and I doubt this will have anything like it. Story+strategy is a winning combo for me...on that note I have to figure out what I've missed to get the last few endings in Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (My favorite game on vita by far.)
