Somebody, Please Make A Star Wars Game Look This Cool, Thanks

A group of stunt performers has made a video that will instantly have anyone who's ever played a Star Wars video game clutching at their hearts and whimpering "pleeeease" through clenched teeth.

It's a first-person lightsaber duel, shown from both the perspective of Darth Vader and a Jedi. We've had games try and do this before - Jedi Knight and the Star Wars arcade game come to mind - but nothing has ever come close to looking this amazing.

Cool idea but the fish eye camera sucks. I understand why, but it's unpleasant to look at.

You know what has always frustrated me in these sequences in pretty much every star wars film that it occurs, and every game.
You have the guy by the throat with a magical force, you have a beam of energy that can cut through practically everything hovering no less than 10cm away from a decapitation. Just bloody do it >.<
Same with the force push from behind, that effort would have been better used to plunge your saber into his spine not shoving him out of reach

because it looks cool and movie fight choreography rarely lines up with real life styles of fighting.

So there's this game called Bushido Blade on PSX, it was a first person samurai fighter. I don't think it did particularly well.

Actually, Bushido Blade was fairly successful and a fantastic game to boot. The first-person mode was not the default by the way, it was only an option, and yes, it was pretty much unplayable in that mode.

Such a great game, the damage system was revolutionary at the time and the interactive story progression was very innovative! I loved it!

The Stunt People are great. I've been watching their work for about 10 years now. If you're even vaguely interested in screen fights you need to do yourself a favour and check out the rest of their channel, then go and buy a DVD or two from their store.
