Lost Planet 3 Now Scheduled To Cool Things Off On June 28

Originally pegged as an early 2013 release, publisher Capcom has announced that Lost Planet 3 won’t be coming out until June. Specifically, it will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on June 25 in North America and on June 28 in Europe.

The newest trailer shows lead character Jim Peyton landing on the frozen wastes of E.D.N. III and finding out that all is not kosher on the foreboding ice planet. Seems like there’s going to be a plot that’s actually digestible in this Lost Planet — developed by Spark Unlimited — and some storytelling that doesn’t just shuffle players from one big set-piece to the next. We can only hope, right?

  • allow me to be the first to convey the obligatory “what, no Wii u version?!” comment. thank you for your time.

  • Lost Planet 3 will be as lame as Lost Planet 2!

The original Lost Planet, on the other hand, was an excellent game – we’re talking Metal Gear Rex Vs Metal Gear Ray type epicness!
Lost Planet 1 will make you go MEH on the first area. Then after that it went F*n Insane.

Think Anime style mech battle crossed with MechWarrior/MechAssault mechanicalism and survival.

  • Lost Planet 3 looks like trash already – another cheapo Unreal3 skinnerbox like Aliens: Colonial Marines!

Watch a Bioshock Infinite video. Then watch the Lost Planet 3 video. Exact same engine. Unreal Engine 3! Shows the difference between a Professional Dev, Irational, and a group who just slaps cheap assets together, slaps it on a plastic lunchbox and tries to sell it /rant

  • Lost planet 2 was great gameplay and multiplayer co-op wise, was like scifi monster hunter, but not as hard (even on the hardest modes). I do wish they had written the story better though.

The mechs in 2 were way cooler than the mechs in 1
