This Handy Website Lets You Check The Status Of Sim City's Servers

Considering the incredible difficulties players had in actually getting online to play Sim City during its launch week, this new webpage, which allows players to quickly check the status of all Sim City servers, is long overdue. It's also a very welcome, super helpful addition.

In the wake of Sim City's disastrous launch, it appears as though Maxis and EA are doing their level best to make it up to consumers, offering a free game on Origin to all who purchased Sim City. This new webpage is designed to help appease those who have had difficulties getting online. At the present moment only one of the available servers is experiencing queues but, really, you shouldn't have to queue at all to play a video game you paid cold, hard cash for.

Still, baby steps. And this a good solid step forward.

Wait... why does Antarctica have its own server?

Anyway... I have found a decent server that's fast and it doesn't drop out every 5 minutes like the Australian server used to.

Eskimos gotsta get their mayor on too ya know.

The names of the servers don't denote the server's location. It's just a name as far as I can tell. They could've named the servers after fruits, or animals, or anything else.

But why not make an Oceanic 3 server, an Antarctica named server is just useless no matter where the actual server is located.

How is it any less useful from the name? You can still log on to it and build cities. It might even be less busy!

Can anyone confirm that this page is telling the truth?

Have you never played an MMO?

People have been queuing to play their games for well over a decade now.

People shouldn't necessarily have to queue to play SimCity though. Although, it doesn't really bother me.

I think its people over reacting to something that's not all that big a deal. If you love SimCity so much, you'll put up with it and understand after a week or two, not as many people will be playing it.
Think of it really being released a week late. Just play something else in the meantime.

Funny, it says Oceanic 2 is working...but it's not.
