Macross/Robotech LEGO That Transforms. I Can Die Now.

Builder daikoncat is the genius behind this LEGO piece that, were it released commercially in the 1980s, would have been the only toy a boy would have ever needed. LEGO? Check. Giant robot? Check. Fighter jet? Check. The ability to transform between giant robot and fighter jet? Yes.

What’s impressing me most about this modular version of Skull Leader — aside from the whole transforming business — is that, at first glance, the figure looks pretty clunky and basic, but the closer you look, the more detail you see. The fingers. The joints. The vents. It’s fantastic.
