This Week In Mortal Kombaaaaaaaaaat! (And Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon)

At first glance I thought — blergh. Not much this week? Then I dug a little deeper. Mortal Kombat hits Australian shores this week! And Far Cry 3 — Blood Dragon! Oh, and Fez for the PC! Are you guys and girls planning to pick anything up this week?

Far Cry 3 – Blood Dragon (360/PS3/PC)

What is it? It’s bottled nostalgia, put into a blender. Like drinking cordial nostalgia straight from the bottle — no chaser. Bye bye teeth. Real answer: it’s a pretty cool Far Cry 3 expansion thing that’s more than an expansion.
Should you care? You should probably care.

Fez (PC)

What is it? One of my favourite games of 2012 finally makes it to PC. A true mind bending exercise in dimensional exploration. It’s great.
Should you care? I’m thinking of buying it again. Just because.

Leviathan Warships (PC)

What is it? A turn-based warship game. Hey — this sounds sort of interesting!
Should you care? I love the high concept. Jury is out on the game. Maybe wait to check out some reviews first.

Might & Magic Heroes VI: Shades of Darkness (PC)

What is it? An expansion pack for Might & Magic Heroes VI.
Should you care? Obligatory ‘for fans of the series’ sentence. That said — Might & Magic VI overcame early niggles to be actually quite good. Those obsessed with the game will be happy to see additional content I’d expect.

Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition (360/PS3)

What is it? Well, I never! Who would have thought we’d finally see the day. Only a couple of years late!
Should you care? It’s a good game, and it’s an important release from a historical standpoint — but I’d probably get Injustice instead. That said, it’s launching at a super affordable price of $39.95.

Soul Sacrifice (PS Vita)

What is it? An action RPG produced by Keiji Inafune.
Should you care? Considering its pedigree, you’d be well advised to keep a beady eye on this one.

Zeno Clash II (PC)

What is it? A first person RPG with fighting elements.
Should you care? I haven’t heard much about this release. The first game was popular among some PC folks and I know there is a core group of people seriously anticipating this release. If you are one of those people, you probably don’t need to hear my opinion on whether you should care or not!
