If you’re desperate for punishment, you’re in luck: the folks at Namco Bandai have just announced that a closed beta for Dark Souls II will launch in October for the PlayStation 3.
To access the beta, which begins October 5, you’ll have to check the Dark Souls Facebook page over the next month or so. That itself is a form of punishment worthy of the Dark Souls name.

Oh MAN. If I got in, I would buy a PS3 just for this occasion.
Saw this. Went to tag you. Way ahead of me.
Also – omgomg omgomg *fit**passout**drool*
You should already have one my friend!
It died from too much Dark Souls. True story.
I really want in on this beta action!!!!!!!
“for players in North America and Europe”
Downvoted for content, not the act of posting. Booooooo to this news.
Sorry bro -_-
I choose to believe that because we are on Europe-PAL with certain other consoles, we will still be included. I need this belief to keep breathing, so don’t take it away from me 😛
Also, I’m not normally one to avoid spoilers or trailers to”keep my experience pure” when i first purchase a game, but I’d probably be willing to turn down a chance at this beta just so I go into Dark Souls 2 as it is meant to be played the first time – hopelessly fucking lost without a clue while being forced to learn the mechanics just as a means to stop constantly getting killed
Agreed!
Virgin experience. Terrifying.
The PS3 is going to have a looooooong tail.
