CGI Makes Ninja Dancing Better

I didn’t know ninja dancing was a thing, let alone ninja dancing CGI. This is Enra, a Tokyo-based dance troupe that mixes dance rhythms, martial-arts influenced acrobatics, and computer graphics.

The group is spearheaded by Nobuyuki Hanabusa, who made a career of creating computer graphics for Japanese television shows and commercials. The performers have impressive resumes, too. One dancer, Tsuyoshi Kaseda, for example, played the green Power Ranger on Fox Kids.

  • I didn’t immediately pick up that they are dancing in sync to a projection not CG after effects. I am pretty impressed by this multimedia fusion of art and dance.

  • I can’t even begin to imagine how much practice it must take to be able to stay in sync with whats happening on the screen
