Barack Obama: ‘We’re Building Iron Man’

Is the United States government really building Iron Man? Is the president trying to disarm us with one of those “jokes” he loves so much? If I were president of the United States, and I had a secret plan to build Iron Man, this is exactly what I’d do: joke about building Iron Man and then say things like “Ha ha ha. Not really. Maybe. It’s classified.” Nobody would suspect a thing.

  • The man-child I want to be wishes this was true with all his heart. The adult Im forced by society to be knows its not gonna happen

  • They have worked on battle suits before. Think of thin armour for small arms fire, hydrolics for increased pyshical performance, walk further carry more and inbuilt comms and vision sensors. As opposed to flying and shooting rockets out there ass.

  • If it is true then it’s not really surprising, pretty sure DARPA has been working on powered infantry armour for at least a few decades.

All you have to do is look at Fallout or Warhammer 40k or that cargo loader from the Alien movie to see how good powered armour could be, all they have to do is figure out how to make it.

Science fiction often becomes science fact (or at least influences it).

Actually, I’m sort of surprised it’s taken them this long to develop something like this.
