Barack Obama Compares Health Insurance To Buying A PlayStation

Earlier this month, US President Barack Obama mentioned Microsoft's Xbox as a way to frame the government shutdown. Today, it's PlayStation's turn: this time, Obama's comparing health insurance to Black Friday sales.

Clearly the president of the United States understands how important it is to stay neutral in this high-stakes next-gen console war. If you're the President of the United States, and you decide to talk about Xbox, you've gotta throw in a PlayStation mention too. We wouldn't want the country to get caught up in another long, drawn-out console war.

I guess Nintendo has to be next? Someone make sure Obama knows that a Wii U isn't just a Wii accessory.

It would be nice if you could transcribe what was said for those of us unable to play the video...

I wonder if his speech makers are actually actively keeping it a neutral ground. They are obviously using the reference to engage the 'gaming' generation. And if the Australian stats are anything to go by its 71% of homes have 2 or more gamers.

…except that you don't get fined by the government for not buying a playstation.

No, he compared it to buying a product from a store that doesn't have any stock.

I thought this already happened? I swear I feel like I read this story before.

Isn't this the third time Obama's done this sort of thing?
