There used to be a cool Peggle game on the New Zealand App Store. The same Peggle you could get everywhere else in the world. That game is now gone. In its place is a new Peggle game that is just the worst.
Yes, the old Peggle – the one you paid money for then got a game in return – is no longer available there. It’s been replaced with a new version, one which runs in portrait mode, adds a central hub map and throws in a few new features.
This new Peggle is free. Free to play, that is. In exchange for this privelege, you’ll be paying for everything else. Just look at these screenshots.

The worst part isn’t what they have done to this new Peggle, as awful as it is. It’s that they took the older versions down.
The New Zealand App Store is the place where new and upcoming apps are released (and tested) first. So everyone outside New Zealand, now is your chance to get the real Peggle (or backup your existing copy) before it’s too late.

are you fucking kidding me… why the fuck even… I have been done with EA for years and refuse to purchase their products for this very reason.
What EA have done to Popcap is f*&king criminal. Popcap used to be one of my favourites and now it is on the avoid list. All the good versions of their old games are being replaced with inferior EA versions effectively screwing people who paid for it originally if they foolishly apply the “update”. I can not put into words how much I despise EA.
I don’t get Peggle at all.
I downloaded it on XBL after it got some very solid reviews and it’s just….. well kinda bland.
I get that it’s not supposed to be complicated but it’s just a concept that at its most basic level is really dull.
It’s kinda like Angry Birds except without the fun physics, or complex puzzles (however complex the puzzles in Angry Birds are), or the destruction.
The music is good though.
I certainly won’t be buying this F2P crap that’s for sure!!!
In App Purchases make more money than outright sales.
Do you know how much money Popcap has made from me since being bought by EA? 0$ Before that I bought Bejeweled, PvsZ about 4 times and Peggle twice. Multiple purchases were for different devices. I can’t be the only one.
I feel you. I really do.
Unfortunately the sad reality is that for every dozen or so people that are turned off the game by this, there’s some fat fuck sitting around spending 100 times the original paid price.
