In many places in the United States today, the Independence Day holiday will be marked by solemn speeches and somber remembrances about what it means to be American. Not in Los Santos. Folks in GTA Online have already started driving monster trucks, shooting guns and firing off their fireworks. Looks like fun!
Rockstar dropped its Independence Day add-on pack into GTA Online earlier this week, with new red-white-and-blue-themed weapons, gear and vehicles for players to try out. You can see a bunch of the stuff in action in the videos posted here, one of which is set to the theme song to modern film classic Team America. Blowing shit up. It’s the American way.

Yesterday was the Fourth of July, it is today in the U.S.A. Oh and this game hasn’t even been released on PC here anyway. So WTF? This is kotaku.com.au isn’t it? I never can tell.
What’s the relevance of the PC version not being released yet? This article has nothing to do with the upcoming PC version.
I’d say that he’s referring to the fact that the article is labelled as ‘PC’ right at the top.
Oh, I see that now. I never pay attention to that because I just get everything via RSS.
Rockstar are getting a well-deserved bollocking for the fact that the firework cannon costs 63k and you cannot buy ammo for it after July 15 (and you can only hold 20 rounds), no game developer in their right mind would, or should ever go to the effort of adding a freaking firework cannon to a game and then take it away after a short period of time, with it- and it’s ammunition, not to be available again till new year’s eve probably.
The firework cannon without ammo will then become a $63,000 useless weapon taking up a slot in the weapon wheel, which people will eventually get annoyed with and discard (which is what Rockstar wants).
Sickeningly, absolutely every aspect of GTA Online is calculated and designed in a way where a feature is measured against how it will impact Rockstar’s Cash Card sales (real money for in-game money).
It’s because of this I have no problem with money glitchers.
Great.
Couldn’t really care less.
Though, a funny thing DID happen the other day; I got chased-down, Road Warrior style by three players. Two in Liberators (Monster Trucks) and one in a Bifta (Beach Buggy). The guy in the buggy would spin me out, then the two trucks would come and run into me.
Was both aggravating, terrifying and amazing at the same time.

I could. Can’t wait for the mad max game. Totally gonna rock out on that!
