It’s called Restaurant M. And for one day in Tokyo, it will be serving full-course meals made from McDonald’s food.
According to Weekly ASCII, Bimi, and Sorrida, the full course meal is served on plates and eaten with utensils.

There’s even a fancy menu.

This, for example, is vichyssoise made from French fries and a gelée made with McDonald’s veggies.

That’s ice tea in the wine glass.

Here is a platter of different McDonald’s patties.

Looks like there are dipping sauces. Toothpicky things, too.

Are we really going to do this?

Guess so.
Dessert is blueberries mixed with strawberries and Oreo cookies. Coffee is also served.

Restaurant M will open on July 27 at the Roppongi Hills McDonald’s, serving only ten groups of twenty customers selected via McDonald’s Japanese site.

I’m happy to buy McDonald’s now and then but for anyone that’s had good food (most people) that really does look discusting. Of all things that revolting cheese looks ridiculous and cheap.
Mutton dressed up as lamb.
More like a week-old fly-blown desiccated corpse of a sheep dressed up as lamb 😛
This just goes to show what a difference plating and presentation makes.
Or in this case… doesn’t. :p
Seems Taco Bell didn’t win the franchise wars after all.
Sorry, but no. You can dress it up as much as you want, but as someone who has been to multi-course dinners and degustation, this just looks cheap.
All this advertising lately trying to “fancy-up” McDonalds. I guess they have to try and progress their brand, but Maccas will to me always be that 24-hour cheap place that I can get some grease after a night of drinking.
hahaha spot on
I’m sure Australia will adopt something like this now too in their effort to try and promote the McDonalds chain as totally not an American owned fast food franchise…
This is my top 5 best maccas around the world (mind you I haven’t been all around the world yet so this list is still a wip)
1. Japan
2. U.S.A.
3. Australia
4. South Korea
5. New Zealand
I’ve eaten at all of the above (and then some) and I’d definitely add Italy (something about the chips, courtesy mayo and mini fork) and Malaysia. Malaysian Macca’s has this sweet/spicy red sauce, that doesn’t taste like any sweet chilli I’ve ever had, in big dispensers at the counter. They include little plastic cups for dipping, but a squirt of that in the middle of any burger just elevates it. If I could have, I’d have bottled it and taken it home.
Wow, that awesome, mate~ I must go to maccas when I eventually go to those 2 countries
