Phantasy Star Online 2 is being turned into a TV anime series. What’s it going to be called? Why, Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation. Clever!
The show helps mark Phantasy Star Online‘s 15th anniversary. It is slated for a 2016 broadcast in Japan and will feature a completely original story.

Now watch as this is streamed everywhere in the world with subtitles, but the game continues to be a no-show in English.
Twist the knife a bit deeper, Sega. 🙁
I think we’ve both been waiting for this one for a while. This and God Eater 2 were my most hoped-for ports. No dice on either front yet. PSO2 I don’t think ever will – GE2 I’m still hopeful.
I played the PSO2 beta, stumbled through for ages(since I understood no Japanese) and when it finally released I was excited for the eventual English release, every month was “This is it, this is the month that they finally tell us they are localising it.” and that went on for about 6 months before I gave up.
@ynefel: they actually announced a localization for it something like 2 years ago, but then went completely silent on it. Haven’t cancelled, haven’t released. I guess they decided they couldn’t turn a profit off it given the localization costs.
