Well, the July drought continues in earnest. Not a great week for new game releases, unless you like cowboys and/or golf. If that’s the case you’re totally set.
But here’s the crazy thing: I’m actually considering playing Rory McIlroy PGA Golf. The truth is, those games are good! They’re actually really good. If you like golf. I sorta like golf. So I’m considering giving it a try.
Anyone picking anything up this week?
AntharioN (PC)
What is it? An old-school RPG in an open world, with turn-based combat.
Should you care? I think this is going to appeal to a number of older gamers. I like the concept. Nothing else like it really.
Anti-Opoly (PC)
What is it? It’s like an anti-monopoly game. Not sure how that works
Should you care? If you like monopoly it might be your thing, but nah.
Biodrone Battle (PC)
What is it? A top-down shooter. You play as a drone trying to kill other drones. This does not sound interesting, but it looks interesting.
Should you care? Looks well made and polished.
God of War III Remastered (PS4)
What is it? Hey, I forgot about this. It’s out this week. Probably a good week for it to come out.
Should you care? If you missed out on God of War III first time round, sure.
Guild of Dungeoneering (PC)
What is it? A turn-based dungeon crawling game. Looks interesting.
Should you care? I feel a little confused by its high concept. Check it out if dungeon crawlers are your thing.
GODZILLA (PS4)
What is it? I literally know nothing about this game. I didn’t even know it existed.
Should you care? The fact I didn’t know it existed is probably a bad sign. It looks kinda bad.
Interstellaria (PC)
What is it? You play the part of a Captain managing their crew aboard some sort of space ship.
Should you care? This looks really interesting: sort of like Fallout: Shelter in space. This looks like a lot of fun.
Legions of Steel (PC)
What is it? A tactical board game thing with turn-based combat.
Should you care? Man, the turn-based board game style seems popular this week. This one seems a little more polished and interesting than most.
Luckslinger (PC)
What is it? It’s a 2D cowboy shooter thing where luck is a resource.
Should you care? This might be the surprise attack of this week. I like the way this looks. It seems super flowy, responsive and fun.
Niko: Through The Dream (PC)
What is it? Its own description: “Niko is a spiritual journey through the dreams”. Alright then.
Should you care? It’s a first person puzzle game. Seems interesting and well made, if a little basic. Basic in a good way. Maybe. Probably. A little pretentious.
Odallus: The Dark Call (PC)
What is it? A Metroidvania, with emphasis on the Castlevania side of that equation.
Should you care? It looks interesting: the combat of Ghosts ‘n Goblins combined with the structure of Castlevania. Might be worth a look.
Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (Xbox One/PS4)
What is it? Hey it’s Rory! Not Tiger Woods. RORY. This is weird. But probably a good thing. It’s still golf, right?
Should you care? Honestly, you might hate golf, but these games are good. They are always really good.

The Fall and The Vanishing of Ethan Carter are both out on PS4 this week along with Deception IV: Nightmare Princess on Vita, PS3 and PS4.
As always, Suikoden III might be out if Sony and Konami get their act together. The popular theory is that we are waiting on the ratings board but neither company is forthcoming with any information about why it’s being delayed.
As if we needed anything more this week than Trials Fusion : Awesome level Max. Unicorns @Serrels…… Unicorns. And cats. So many me should be in games with gold on X1 come the 16th too, which since I never played it on PC looks like fun
