Today, the Resident Evil stage play, which is called… Resident Evil the Stage (blergh), debuted in Japan. Let’s see what it looked like!
According to Inside Games, the play’s timeline is between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. The setting is an Australian university, where BSAA descends after a bioterrorism incident and things get worse.
Resident Evil the Stage features an entirely Japanese cast, with Seijiro Nakamura playing Chris Redfield and Rin Asuka playing Rebecca Chambers. Other cast members include Asuka Kuramochi of (former!) AKB48 fame as a university student named Mary Grey and Sonny Chiba of Sonny Chiba fame as the university’s president.
How was it? Resident Evil superfan Alex Aniel dug it:
Resident Evil The Stage is pretty darn good! Better than the Hollywood movies and more faithful to the games. Uses RE6’s OST cleverly too.

For those who can’t see the live show, it’ll come to DVD (and BD?) in January with English subtitles. A must for any fan. #residentevil
