It’s finally confirmed — Alden Ehrenreich is indeed the new Han Solo, and will star in Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s solo Solo film. Apparently, Ehrenreich was literally the first person to audition for the role out of more than 3,000 actors. He also screentested in the Millennium Falcon and with Chewbacca, too.

Filming begins in either late January or early February 2017.

That’s A NewHope-era Han-length hair, I do believe. And here’s Ehrenreich in a silly cowboy hat:

How dare they recast him. Harrison Ford as Han Solo was just a really important part of my childhood.
Came hoping for a comment demanding a black poly sexual Han… left disappointed.
So… Lando?
Lando aint poly, dont ruin him for me.
You can’t tell me that a man that feels comfortable prancing around in a gold-trimmed purple cape doesn’t have a strike zone wider than the broad side of a Star Destroyer.
Dudes just a Cadbury chocolate bar… dont ruin him
Bravo! You, sir. Have won my internet! 🙂
he took his jerb!
Not Shia LaBeouf? He was meant to replace Ford in one of his other roles…
Shhh… We don’t talk about that…
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeh…..I’m sure he will do fine.
A young Han Solo movie seems like the least necessary Star Wars spinoff but it’s not like I won’t watch it. I’m sure he’ll do fine.
Aren’t you at least a bit interested in how he managed to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs?
Especially when a parsec is a measurement of distance, not time…
This was explained in the EU. The Kessel Run is not a race but a dangerous smugglers route. The smaller the distance traveled, the closer the smuggler came to a black hole. Han in the Falcon flew the route in 12 parsecs, the closest anyone has ever come to the black hole.
(This was obviously a retcon, and yeah I know the EU isn’t canon anymore but it still sits firmly in my head canon hahaha. We all know Lucas screwed up when he wrote that)
It also doesn’t explain why people who lived a long time ago in a galaxy far far away are using a measurement system derived from the distance between the Earth and the Sun …
Well if you want to get that technical, why are they all speaking English?
“I have a question! Why is it that we all speak in British accents, when we’re from outer space where there is no Britain?”
lol
Galactic standard?
I prefer to believe that Solo was bignoting himself to a country rube.
Ehrenreich was pretty good in Hail Caesar (The cowboy hat pic up top)
i doubt George Lucas had rehashes and remakes in mind when he sold the franchise. at least we got original material with the prequels. Disney seem to just want to remake the original trilogy over and over again.
