I hate Rickrolls, but you have to give Adult Swim credit here.
Seeing the words “Rick and Morty SEASON 3 Opening Scene” is enough to get any Rick and Morty fan excited. And given that the video was uploaded by Adult Swim themselves, it’s hard not to get excited.
There’s just one small problem: it’s not an opening scene at all, but an elaborate Rickroll using footage from (supposedly) the first two seasons. There could be some cuts from the third season that I didn’t catch, but it blows by pretty fast and I’m not about to do a frame-by-frame takedown.
If you’re going to do a Rickroll in 2017, you’d better put some effort into it. The third season of Rick and Morty is supposed to air this year, although Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have publicly admitted that it’s taking a while to come together. Here’s a sneak peek into a development meeting, if you don’t mind the (potential) spoiler.
