With the new Daydream View due out soon, the Telstra eBay store has started clearing stock of the old Daydream View. They're selling the virtual reality headset for just $28.

Not sure what a Daydream View is? Daydream View is a virtual reality headset, made by Google and released in 2016, which allows you to plug in your mobile phone to experience VR.

Straight out of the box you get the headset and a controller. Google recently announced an update to their headset, which is likely why this is going so cheap.

Originally retailing for $119, the Telstra eBay store currently has them listed for just $28 with free delivery. There's absolutely no catch. None!

If you've ever thought about jumping in and giving VR a go, this is absolutely the way in.

However, the Daydream View doesn't support all smartphones. Currently, only 15 make the cut. Thesupported phones include: Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Samsung Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8, LG V30, Motorola Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z2 Force, ZenFone AR, ZTE Axon 7, Huawei Mate 9 Pro and the Porsche Design Mate 9.

Tsk, surprised that the Gaaxy series is only supported from 8+. Looks a better headset than my el-cheapo 20 buck one.

It's because the daydream requires specific hardware internally unlike other forms of vr, kinda like gear vr but not limited to a single manufacturer.

Yep, refresh rate and gyroscope to update movement details very quickly. There is at least a minimum standard, unlike cardboard which was fun but nowhere near as decent as this.
