New Total War DLC Looks Like A Horror Movie

For a while now, Creative Assembly has sold a “gore” or “blood” pack for their Total War games as DLC. It’s now Three Kingdoms’ turn, with an update called Reign Of Blood, and it is bloody.

I mean... pools of blood, big juicy stabbings I get, this is a game about war! But horse dismemberment and ritual decapitation, this is starting to get messy.

This thing will cost around $4 (Australian pricing has yet to be confirmed), and before you cry havoc and unleash something that would have its legs cut off in that trailer, know that this is sold separately for a reason: leaving it out of the main game allows its rating to be more family-friendly, and making it paid DLC (as opposed to a free update) allows it to stay that way.

If that was true make it $0.01? Do I really need to buy the blood pack for another game?

I was also under the impression that some countries (namely Australia) take DLC into account when rating a title so that it shouldn't be a loophole in that case.

A game is submitted and rated once pre launch, before any DLC has been created in many cases, let alone released. Games are not re-rated unless the Classification Review Board get involved and that is a process by exception.
To Hippy - I think the small cost of the DLC is to cover the extra expense of having to make this part of the game separate from the core code base and then cover subsequent DLC release costs.

Wow that's like classic mortal kombat levels worth of blood.

Reminds me of Dragon Age a little bit too, covered in blood splashes, casually asking an NPC for directions.
