Here’s The Final Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Trailer

The Rise of Skywalker will be the end of the new Star Wars era. What happens to the Jedi, the Sith, the future of the Rebels and the Empire?

There’s a super touching moment in the trailer from C-3PO, as well as the final scenes featuring the late Carrie Fisher, Mark Hammill, and what appears to be Rey and Kylo Ren — or someone using Kylo Ren’s lightsaber — smashing something together inside what appears to be an Imperial base of some sort. There’s also a lot of angsty Kylo Ren and Rei fights, so who knows where that ends up.

But still, that C-3PO look line about friends.

Is that to Luke and the original crew?

Or is it to us?

The Rise of Skywalker hits Australian cinemas on December 19, two days before its release in the United States. It’s nice to be first for a change.

  • I’ll wager the final shot of “good” Rey with the blue lightsaber is her looking at “evil” Rey from the last trailer.

The Emperor riding in a mech is a worry though….

    • I doubt it’ll be any stranger than Maul’s drider cybernetic body from when he returned in Clone Wars. I could be wrong tho!

  • Sorry. No. Not even inserting the Ghost into the immediate background (1:00) can get me excited for this. Not after what Disney and the new LucasFilm have done to the franchise and how they’ve treated the fans. I’m curious, though, if they’re going to finish wiping away the original cast in this one and kill off Leia, erase 3PO and R2, etc.

  • Thanks for the heads up! Especially after seeing the trailer and ‘tickets on sale now.’

And I’ve got my 4DX tickets bought and I am ready for my 12:01 session!

I’m too old to do this again after this XD

Oh well. Hopefully we’ll have Sabine and the Mandalorians on the good guys side if the Ghost is there. :3

    • The first movie didn’t do much for me, but TLJ really brought me back.
I hope they finish it well, I teared up during this, it won’t suit everyone no matter what they do, but I’m looking forward to seeing the movie, and hearing the score in the cinema.

    • I’m in the same boat and didn’t understand all of the hate ep 7 received. I felt that you had to do something familiar (space western) to get people to fall in love with the franchise again. Looking back ep1 was a political/action movie set in space and hasn’t aged well.

I’m not a fan of teasing and revealing the Emperor in trailers… Should let it be a revelation during the film.

      • My issue is with the story of TLJ. The previous movie had a great start for a trilogy. But Rian Johnson decided instead of continuing on that story he wanted to make his own. Which turned out terrible.

Now JJ. Abrams has to fix the shitty storylines Rian made in his movie. IMO Disney should have kept JJ on for all 3 movies.

I couldnt care less about the cries of “SJW’s ruined star wars”. Those arguments were juvenile. The story was objectively shit. The forced (no pun intended) comedy was terrible and cringeworthy

        • TLJ is pure dumpster fire. Johnson has a piss poor resume IMO and shouldn’t have been handed the reins.
The romance between the girl and Finn was especially cringey and unnecessary and I don’t understand why there are random pockets of gravity and friction in space…
Don’t get me started on Leia’s outside space journey…

          • What romance? She essentially forced herself on him at the end. You saw that mortified look he gives her after that kiss.

          • Yeah, it puzzles me how the character went from almost killing him for defecting to falling head over heels in no time at all.

            It’s a terrible storyline.

      • “I’m not a fan of teasing and revealing the Emperor in trailers… Should let it be a revelation during the film.” – It’s simple, They need to tease a possible Palpatine return to get all the Star Wars fans they alienated with the past two dreadful movies to come back for the big finale.

It says something about this trilogy (Ep 7, 8 and 9) that the new cast are so charisma free and have few fans, that they have to bring back iconic characters from Episode 4, 5 and 6 to make people want to see the new trilogy. Not one character from 7, 8 and 9 have any fan base or attachment like the greats from the original trilogy.

        • Yeah. A few of my friends were talking about the trailer today and the best part for them was the return of Palpatine. Not Rey or Chewie or any other characters. The only new character with any personality is BB8.

      • If you watch the behind the scenes footage it was made very obvious Rian didn’t give a flying fuck about the previous movie or the established lore. He wanted to make his own movie that happened to occur in the star wars universe.

The fact Mark Hamill was forced to shut up and stop talking shit about TLJ in interviews was the biggest factor. Mark made it obvious he hated the movie. He hated the direction Luke was taken.

        • Such a shame as 7 laid down a platform that i thought would at least to a product significantly better than the prequels.
          That idea didnt age well.
