This one is special for me – it’s actually the third game I ever played. Try and guess this game from one screenshot and let us know in the comments below. If someone happens to get it before I can respond, feel free to put on the rose-tinted glasses and get sentimental discussing this classic game.

Or is it Way of the Exploding Fist on the C64? Getting my C64 karate games mixed up… memory hazy… old age encroaching!

It is Way of the Exploding Fist, but IK+ was the better game. TWOTEP was Aussie though, so bonus points.

I’s also gunna say international karate.
But crikey I can’t help but see the final level of Street fighter 2 in that picture with Ken vs Ryu -

Was actually one of my most very favorite games!
I wonder if I can find the CD for it anywhere in my pile-o-old crap.
On topic, I played this… the name doesn’t ring a bell though.

Was this the one they had in arcades with the two joyticks and no buttons??? When it was 20c to play. I remember going on a family holiday when i was about 7 and spending two weeks in the basement of the hotel playing that and Double Dragon.

It’s actually Way Of The Exploding Fist, it looks very very similar to international karate though. You’ll note the score bar, is different, as is the referee.

Yep, Way of the Exploding Fist. Remember this on a friend’s C64 when I was a kid. I never did own a C64 *sniff*.

I would have guessed IK+ too. When you unplugged your joystick from the port, the dude’s pants fell down. Hilarious!
