It’s a rule of thumb: Let people create things, and you’re definitely going to see dick drawings. You might even see Nazi doodles, too. But Battlefield 4 is fighting that.
Like Call of Duty before it, Battlefield 4 gives players an emblem creation tool. And like Call of Duty before it, BF4 also has a feature that will allow players to report images they find unsavoury.
The game is currently in beta, but there are already Nazi emblems popping up in the game (see above). Yes, that’s rather icky! However, not everyone is using the emblem tool to create unsettling flags for their helicopters, vehicles and clans.
As documented on Reddit’s BF4 page and its BF4 emblems page, beta players are creating their country’s flags, pop culture images and more. It’s much nicer to see people using the emblem tool to create stuff like this.

BAHAHAHAA THAT WILD THORNBERRY ONE.
SMASHINGGGGG!
While the nazi stuff is distasteful and unnecessary Ive never felt the need to report anyone for it in either COD or BF. In the end its a rather insignificant thing to be concerned about and if we are to ban that there are alot of country flags that should also be banned considering war time atrocities arent confined solely to the nazis.
Agree totally, the USA and Allies got away with a few massive ones in WW2 thanks to the fact that they won.
Especially if you consider the Native American Indian holocaust which was actually the largest act of human genocide in history.
Why do they refer to it as a nazi flag and not as a swastika? Don’t we identify the union jack and not the UK flag when we see it?
Possibly to differentiate from the “original” swastika
Because a Nazi flag is a right-facing swastika tilted 45 degrees set against a white circle in a red background. A tilted right-facing swastika is an element of that, but you can certainly identify this as a Nazi symbol distinct from any Sanskrit or Buddhist meaning.
As the guy who normally has to point this out to people I give you kudos for saving me the effort.
But we don’t refer to the Buddhist symbol as a swastika do we?
The Buddhist symbol is opposite to the swastika… it looks like the swastika but backwards
People put the Nazi thing because they are being immature, not because they are nazi’s. They’ll get over it when the novelty wears off and people aren’t throwing up a fuss.
I think the dicks and stuff is more immature.
Although that said, the options for symbols you can make is limited. In things you can use and the number of layers. I suspect if they expanded it, you’d get more tasteful things.
Anyone remember Mario Kart DS? That had an in-game logo tool and I remember playing on Wi-Fi day one and a good 60-70% of the players had some form of dick.
hah, i’ve never seen this article before but seeing my emblem on here made my day
