If you like lights doing really cool stuff all over iconic building in Sydney, Vivid is the best. It’s also a festival that plays host to some really cool speakers and events. This year one of those events includes a video game thing.
That video game thing has a pretty terrible name, but it sounds interesting.
It’s called Game ON because of course it is. Everything mainstream about video games is called Game ON. Game ON is apparently an “exclusive event offering insights into the immersive and converging worlds of games culture and online video.”
It takes place over three days at the Australian Technology Park. For some reason the official Vivid website doesn’t tell you when the event takes place, but Vivid takes place between May 22 and June 8, so it will most likely be during that period.
Over 3 exciting days Game ON exists purely for attendees to experience and discover the awesome world of interactive games and online video.
Meet innovators, trailblazers and celebrity YouTubers; Listen to visionaries; participate in workshops, watch a performance; compete against your friends in the e-sports competition or simply connect with likeminded people.
Asides from that, there are plenty of interesting stuff going on. Matthew Weiner, the creator of Mad Men is making an appearance, as is former-The Smiths frontman Morrisey. Morrisey is super weird now, but I’d still be interested is seeing both those events.
Also, there’s the fact that the Vivid light show itself is totally incredible. There’s that.
You can find out more about Vivid and what’s going on here.

Game ON is not even the worst name. Like, now it seems you’re just being hard for the sake of it.
what about if they used this as the poster advertising it:

????
I completely endorse the use of such a poster.
The creator of Game On is Neil Gaimen (not the author) and he is Jamaican.
more gold from shithead. Neeeeeeil Game On Mun.
I wouldn’t call it gold. I’ll come up with better shit tomorrow when I’m bored at work.
The crowds are going to be even worse this year then….
This Game On event is run by the same team behind the Save Point TV show. So you can safely assume it will be a disaster.
Bought my flights today. Squarepusher is going to melt my brain.
Also, @markserrels Game On is 22nd-24th May. There is an image shown with dates when you go to enter your details on the wait list. Lucky this is when I’m down!
