Soon Sang Hong is an artist who has worked for companies like Eyedentity, the Korean studio behind games such as, um, Dragon Nest.
I’m a fan of everything that gets posted here on Fine Art — it wouldn’t be posted otherwise — but Good Lord, this is something else. There’s so much character, style and colour going on here that I’d murder to see a TV show made out of those football designs.
Japan has a history of making cool comics and TV out of fantasy sporting teams (and clubs), from Slam Dunk to Captain Tsubasa to Eyeshield 21 (which is itself about American Football), through to more modern titles like Yowamushi Pedal and Free!; I wish it was something that was a little more popular in the West, especially when I see something as cool as this. It’s been a long time between half-time oranges for Roy of the Rovers.
You can see more of Hong’s work at his personal site and ArtStation page.
Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists, showcasing the best of both their professional and personal portfolios.

Oh wow, veeeery nice colours/poses/character design/everything
Soooo.. they’re looking for a modern, Americanized Eyeshield 21?
(That art is amazeballs, though. Much personality wow.)
Really really dig this style.
