It’s probably not the first title you’d think to download if you’re picking up a Brand New Shiny iPhone tomorrow, but if you were ever interested in trying out 2K China’s port of the iconic franchise then I have some bad news for you.
According to an email that’s been posted on the Touch Arcade forums, BioShock has been pulled from sale on Apple’s iOS store due to a “developer decision”.
“I understand you’re having issues with Bioshock for mobile gaming,” the email from 2K Support says. “Unfortunately, you are correct we don’t currently have this game for mobile gaming any more, which I know can be frustrating. The removal of the game was a developer decision. This happens occasionally, but thankfully not often.”
“I’m terrible sorry for this, if you purchased Bioshock for IOS and you would like a refund, Apple will be of great assistance. Since the transaction wasn’t completed through us, we can not perform a full refund back to you. However you will be able to complete a refund with Apple. They will be able to do this for you.”
BioShock was never ported to Android, so there’s no prospect you’ll be able to play the game again on that. 2K hasn’t released a statement regarding the move. I’ve contacted their local office regarding the decision and if they get back to me, or more information breaks about what happened, I’ll keep you posted.

Awwwwwww, sad new, because this was an awesome port, imo
Possibly related to this?http://www.xboxachievements.com/news/news-22192-Remastered-Bioshock-Collection-Outed-By-Retailer.html
Would a PS4/XB1 re-release really impact a mobile port of the original?
I wouldn’t think so, but it’s odd that these events happened within a day of each other.
Don’t be so quick to write off the connection, though. Best way to avoid dumb consumer complaints is just to kill the source.
If I was a dev and heard “I played Bioshock on my PS4 this morning and went to continue it on iOS this afternoon and it looks like crap!” I’d probably require a mild sedative.
That’s fair enough, although entirely different studios are involved here.
Ios certainly wouldn’t be my preferred platform. Anyone who’s played this port able to report back on how playable it is?
Err… was.
Interesting , I was considering getting this at some stage but if it’s coming out on X1 that’s much better (had infinite but only ever rented the original)
