EA just released the PC requirements for Star Wars: Battlefront.
I’m gonna need a bigger PC.
Minimum PC System Requirements
OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or later
Processor (Intel): Intel i3 6300T or equivalent
Memory: 8GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
Graphics card (ATI): ATI Radeon HD 7850 2GB
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
Recommended PC System Requirements
OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or later
Processor (Intel): Intel i5 6600 or equivalent
Memory: 16GB RAM
Hard Drive: At least 40 GB of free space
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB
DirectX: 11.1 Compatible video card or equivalent
After playing this — and enjoying myself greatly — on the PS4 version of Star Wars: Battlefront, that’s where I foresee myself playing this game. PC Master Race, I am sorry.

Dang, my 4gb 770 is so out of date it doesnt even hit the recommended any more.
Tell me about it. My 670 is always showing as minimum now.
I MIGHT just be able to play it.
I mean, Mad Max said it required “NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 (3 GB Memory or higher) or AMD Radeon HD 7970 (3 GB Memory or higher)”
And here I am with my little 1 GB 650ti, smoothly playing it on the best settings… Granted, I AM playing on a native 1280 x 720 monitor >.>
heh 1280×720 monitor. I think all those specifications are based on a 1080p resolution. I am quite fucked since I have a 1440p monitor. Still waiting for the next generation of card to upgrade.
You would have gotten some pretty good mileage outa that tho! Personally just upgraded to a gtx970 for the witcher 3. Was not disappointed to be playing that game at a rock solid 60fps.
Yeah it’s been 3 years now. Time for it to retire after next GPU release. Maybe I’ll build a second tiny PC with it since I won’t much value selling it
My PC eats those specs for breakfast, but being a EA game I’m not touching this til at least 3 months after release. It looks good, but EA have fooled me at least twice now with their multiplayer fps games.
Lol “Windows 10 or later”. Doesn’t get much “later” than Windows 10 atm.
This is why I got out of PC gaming a looooooong time ago….fair dues to those that can keep up with the video card war.
“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.”
I’m noticing that all these games coming out this year want a minimum of GTX 660. I guess I better upgrade soon.
One of the first I’ve seen where my x4-945 & HD6990 can no longer cut the mustard. I cant bring myself to get rid of my old gear…
Dang, those are some system specs =P
I wonder if my mid range laptop with an i7, 8GB ram and a 2GB Radeon 7700 HD will be able to run it, it had no problems running Dark Souls 2: SOTS =P Though i also know that this game will be much more demanding due to the number of players and ‘splosions.
If worse comes to worse i can probably just play it on Xbone…. but i’d prefer it on PC
Edit: Just looked again at the minimum, just out for my video card. Dang!
Well looks like Xbone it is, whenever i get around to getting one lol
finally, after years of being told “You don’t need 16GB of RAM to game” I am vindicated.
LOL I’m still wondering given that the console version will have to make do with 5-6 GB – what the hell do they 16GB for?
I have an empty slot ready for my second 8GB stick, but is it worth it? Perhaps I’ll play the beta. Isn’t that happening tomorrow (US time)?
Yeah 16GB seems pretty outrageous!
“PC Master Race I am sorry.”
NO MATE. This shall be rectified.
Glad my 680 will just scrape it. I’m holding out until next years graphics cards. I haven’t played anything that my 680 has struggled with yet but I guess this game will give it a run for it’s money.
I wish we were given more info about what “minimum” and “recommended” actually mean. The minimum specs are roughly the same as a PS4, so can you expect a roughly equivalent experience (I think it’s 900p)? What resolution and frame rate can you expect with the recommended settings, and at what quality pre-set? Isn’t it all a bit meaningless?
What if I play it on a 640 x 480 resolution? Do I still need the 4 GB of VRAM?
Well if you play at 640x 480 resolution BUT use ultra texture etc etc, it will still need the vram.
Bullsith!
This means shit port or requirements are incorrect.
Good thing I rebuilt my PC last year. Hit the minimums and recommended easily.
My CPU is a : Intel Core i5-2500 @ 3.30 ghz (Quad core)
and my GPU is a : GTX 560.
I’m so out of computer terminology nowadays that I have no idea if this will run Battlefront or not?
Can someone give me a yes or no?
Definitely not.
Mate i’m in the same boat as you.
CPU: i7 920 #firstgen!
GPU 560ti x2 in sli
CPU has lasted since 2008 so pretty happy with that but pretty sure it is time for an upgrade.
Build suggestions welcome people!
I am playing Battlefront using an MSI GT780 gaming laptop running Windows 10, with a GTX560M graphics. No lag whatsoever. Here’s what I did to make it run after a couple of hits and misses during installation. (1) update gt560m driver to the latest, (2) go to geforce website and download the gameready driver.
Be careful when windows 10 downloads major OS update. It will break your drivers amd have to re-download everything again. Hope this info helps.
Ahh thank god for my titan x and 6700 skylake
