Fable: Legends might be dead, but that’s no reason to let a bunch of art from the game’s production go to waste.
Here’s a collection of stuff from artist Billy Wimblett, who worked for a few years on things like environments, assets and creatures.
You can see more art from the game here, in a showcase I ran on Fable: Legends back in January. If you ever need context for how close this game was to release when it was canned, look no further than the fact the game’s art book — generally an extension of launch marketing — made it to release, and is still available for purchase.
You can see more of Billy’s work at his personal site.
Fine Art is a celebration of the work of video game artists, showcasing the best of both their professional and personal portfolios.

Fable was my favorite fantasy franchise back in the day. It has lost its way something bad now. They need to take it back to its roots. I played the closed beta/alpha of this game for some time and never liked it much, but it was still a Fable that I could get behind and help develop with the community. I am sad to see not just the game destroyed but also the developer behind it. I cross my fingers that in this generation of console they bring out a new Fable that is true to its roots. They have the assets for it. But please make using the kinect optional.
Definitely. All this artwork just makes me depressed. Such an awesome and unique world and artstyle, it’s really terrible that they squandered it on bullshit like Fable 3, the kinect one and the moba one. Just make Fable in the style of the first two but stop pushing the timeline forward, I want to go back to the time of Fable 1 or even earlier, where there was still mystery and magic in the world.
