If you asked me how many graphics were in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, my answer would be, “A lot.” If I had to guess, I’d say, like, a hundred? Two hundred? It’s a lot, is the point.
This game is often ridiculously good-looking, especially on PC. That’s particularly true when there are no NPCs in the frame, and it’s just you and some beautifully rendered inanimate objects.
Here are some screenshots from the PC version of the game running at 1440p, mostly ultra settings.
Look at this cabinet in Adam Jensen’s bedroom:
Enhance:
Damn. I want that cabinet in my bedroom.
Check out this wood-panel wall:
Enhance:
Mmm, that is some supple wood.
The computer monitors in the various high-tech offices you’ll explore are often ridiculously detailed, as well.
See that tiny maintenance computer on the floor? Let’s enhance:
Enhance:
Oh what the hell, one more enhance:
I can tell that they misspelled “Healthy” as “Healty”, that’s how detailed that computer monitor is. You can actually read even more than what’s in that last screenshot, too.
Everywhere I go, the environments are absurdly detailed. Expand some of these screens to get the full effect:
There is definitely some dumb/obvious graffiti in the game, but there is also some really great stuff.
For all that handsome detail, the NPCs really do break the spell a bit, what with their wacky lip syncing and goofy animations.
But when you get everyone out of the frame, this is one damned good-looking game. Good work on those wood textures, everyone.

The messages are pretty good and subtle too.
I hate to say it, but I think you forgot to deliver the ‘bionic punch of equality’ to that guard who checked your ID.
That’s probably the most striking thing so far… The fact that Jensen gives no fucks about tapping anyone on the shoulder, regardless of sex, and winding up with a full force attack. I know it was present in Human Revolution, but this time female enemies, guards, etc, are so much more common.
To be clear, I’m not complaining. It just caught me off guard initially, and I get why from a gameplay or design standpoint it’d be absurd to expect anything else. If anything it ends up with some funny situations playing out… “Well, he sure dealt with that screaming waitress with the same level of brutality as he dispatched that guy with the shotgun!”
Broke into a drug dealers apartment shot him with a stun gun and didnt notice his girlfriend watching TV she stood up and was about to turn around and panic scream… solid robot arm palm strike to the throat.
Even nonlethal I felt bad. (still ransacked the place Praxis is expensive) Then I noticed a lot more woman in game and was way too nice to next female story NPC… then watched a female cop lead a bloody shoot out. So yeah.
Yeah I gotta admit I was surprised by so many good textures…
Then you see the human faces and goddamn ugh.
Yeah, human skin looks too shiny.
