When you’re hoping a developer is working on a sequel to your favourite game, rumours become your bread and butter. And while you want them to be true, the reality is they’re called rumours for a reason. Recently, it was suggested by Official PlayStation Magazine that Creative Assembly may soon divert resources to a new Alien game, however, Eurogamer has come back with its “own sources” that say “this isn’t the case”.
After hearing the rumour, Eurogamer’s Chris Blatt decided to hit up SEGA and Creative Assembly directly for comment. This was the reply:
“Currently the studio is fully focused on the development of Total War: Warhammer 2 and other as yet unannounced projects.”
Blatt’s piece states that although the developer is “prototyping its next project”, it has nothing to do with the Alien franchise.
Then there’s this rather important tidbit:
More than that, we’re told the majority of the Alien: Isolation design team no longer works at Creative Assembly. Cross-referencing the more recent Halo Wars 2 credits with the credits for Alien: Isolation certainly suggests this is the case. In fact, most of the names that do reappear only do so in the ‘Special Thanks’ section and belong to designers that now work elsewhere.
Sure, it’s not outside the realms of possibility that something is being cooked up and CA is omitting certain truths, but when this is the case, most developers and publishers will say they have “nothing to reveal at this time” or words to that effect. So I’m going to go with Eurogamer on this one.

Honestly good. It’s a fantastic game, but it really doesn’t need a sequel, best to let it stand on its own.
Meh. I come back to it every yr or two and for everything that was good about it there’s at least 2 extremely irritating things. Like the fact the damn aliens in a leash and in many levels is constantly 8m away from you. That’s scary, it’s just annoying.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo!
“That’s it man, game over, game over man”
