Civilization 6's Spring Update (the game likes to do things in American seasons) is now live, and while many of the changes it brings are just tweaks to various dials and figures, there are a few welcome new additions in there as well.

There are few more difficult ways to win Civilization 6 than to score a Culture victory (which is kinda busted) on the game's hardest difficulty setting. Hats off to Tater596, then, for not only pulling it off, but managing to do so without going to war.

As part of his very comprehensive BFG Modpack, Civ 6 modder Ananse has created and introduced a new unit to the game: The journalist, a civilian unit which can do everything from reduce war weariness to serving as a secret agent.

It's probably more fitting for a video game than I Am Australian or the national anthem, to be fair.

For as long as the series has existed, there have been few things as satisfying in Civilization as building a city on a single tile/hex of Earth separating two larger landmasses. They're known as Canal Cities. In their best examples, you'll see them called Canal Porn.
